Netflix’s most successful series ‘Squid Game’, was revealed for the first time
The set of Season 2 of ‘Squid Game’, the sequel to Netflix’s most successful series ‘Squid Game’, was revealed for the first time. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk said, “Please look forward to a deeper story and message.”
On the 7th, Netflix invited domestic and foreign reporters to the set in Chungcheong Province and unveiled two sets symbolizing ‘Squid Game’. Attending on this day were director Hwang, Kim Ji-yeon, CEO of First Man Studio, a production company, and Netflix officials. Director Hwang said, “We have been filming season 2 diligently since last July with the interest and support of many people. “It’s a heavy burden on my shoulders, but I’ll repay you with a good project worth the wait.” He added, “You can look forward to a deeper story and message that will unfold with new games and new characters.” CEO Kim also said, “All the production crew and cast members are doing their best while filming with the determination to work hard and show a great work in order to repay the world’s interest and expectations for Season 2.”
Following the first season, art director Chae Kyung-seon, who is in charge of the art of ‘Squid Game’, also attended this season. Art Director Chae said, “I feel a great sense of responsibility for the great love we received for Season 1 and the expectations many people have for Season 2. “The entire art team is working hard to better embody Director Hwang’s vision and theme.”
‘Squid Game’ Season 2 is scheduled to continue filming until next year. In the second season, along with Lee Jung-jae, Gong Yoo, Lee Byung-hun, and Wi Ha-jun, who appeared in the previous work, Lee Jin-wook, Da-wit Lee, Park Gyu-young, Jo Yuri, Yang Dong-geun, and T.O.P. As Director Hwang previously revealed in various interviews, Season 2 depicts the story of the main character Seong Ki-hoon (Lee Jung-jae) participating in the survival game again.
